Water-based primer and topcoat system for direct application to metal. Anticorrosive additives help prevent rusting. Designed for interior and exterior use with high adhesion to various metal surfaces, UV resistance and no residual odour.
On black and rusty steel, remove oil and dirt with a suitable Nirlat thinner; ideally blast-clean to Sa 2.5 or mechanically clean to at least St 3. Lightly abrade galvanized steel and aluminium to remove gloss, degrease and allow to dry completely. On previously painted surfaces, check the adhesion of the old coating, remove loose material and rust, and abrade the surface.
Stir well before use. Apply by brush, roller or spray. Apply an even coat at approximately 100 µm wet film thickness. Apply the next coat after 2–3 hours. During application, air temperature should be 7–35°C and surface temperature at least 3°C above the dew point.
Ready to use. If necessary, dilute with water up to a maximum of 10%.
At 25°C: touch dry in 1 hour; ready for handling in 2–3 hours; minimum recoating interval 2–3 hours; full drying 24 hours.
